Purpose This draft governs use of the Uganda Christian University Libraries and Archives website. It is designed for review by UCU legal and data-protection officers before approval.
Acceptable use Users must use the website lawfully, must not impersonate others, submit false information, interfere with security, or reproduce content without permission.
Personal data and privacy UCU collects only information needed for stated, lawful purposes such as responding to enquiries, delivering services, maintaining security, administering events, and recording valid consents. Processing is guided by the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and applicable regulations.
Photographs and videos Where identifiable images are processed for publication, UCU will obtain appropriate consent or rely on another lawful basis. Consent should be specific, informed, and recorded.
Rights and requests Individuals may request access, correction, objection, cessation of processing, or withdrawal of consent where applicable. Contact library@ucu.ac.ug for an initial referral.
Retention, security and changes Records are retained only as necessary for their stated purpose or legal obligations. UCU applies reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. Material changes will be published with an updated version and date.
Governing law This instrument is governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. It is a working policy draft pending UCU approval.
